To the editor: In regard to the proposed sales tax increase by Gov. Beverly Perdue for education: Excuse me? I thought that was what the N.C. lottery was all about.
I remember everybody was on board for the lottery when it was proposed years ago. It was touted as the answer in “education” funds. Now what I am reading is that Perdue wants to up the sales tax due to the hits that education funding has taken, due to the Republicans in the Legislature? Where does the money go from the lottery?
