LESS THAN 196,000 "SIZZLIN' MILLIONAIRE RAFFLE"
TICKETS LEFT FOR JULY 4 DRAWING!
RALEIGH The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has sold more 304,000 "Sizzlin'
Millionaire Raffle" tickets. As of noon today the NCEL expects there will be less than
195,000 chances for players statewide to get in on the July 4 drawing.
"We have been receiving numerous calls about the raffle," said Tom Shaheen, NCEL
executive director. "Many players state they really like this type of game. Several players
have told us about an interesting purchasing strategy, which is that they are waiting for the
remaining ticket count to drop to a certain number before they purchase one."
Unlike other lottery games, there are a limited number of "Sizzlin' Millionaire Raffle" tickets
for sale and once the 500,000 limit is reached, no more tickets will be sold for the raffle.
The "Sizzlin' Millionaire Raffle" will give players the best odds of winning $1 million on an
NCEL game.
The odds of winning one of the top prizes of $1 million are 1 in 125,000. There will be four
$1 million prizes, five prizes of $100,000 and 500 prizes of $1,000.
Players do not choose their numbers for this game and there are no play slips. All numbers
are computer generated. Players just need to tell the retail salesperson that they would like
to purchase a raffle ticket. Tickets are priced at $20 each.
