balls in Wednesday's drawing to win $200,000. The ticket was sold at Wilco #1849 on
Washington Post Road in New Bern. The winner has not yet claimed their prize.
Two players won $10,000 each in Wednesday's Powerball drawing but because one of the
players chose the Power Play feature, their winnings tripled to $30,000. The multiplier for the
drawing was three. Since the jackpot was not won Wednesday, Saturday's jackpot is worth an
estimated $66 million.
In the past three days, instant scratch-off ticket players have won more than $2 million in prizes.
One of those players, Roy Anderson of Durham, visited the lottery's headquarters today to claim
the top prize of $100,000 in "Blue Ridge Riches." Anderson, a retired teacher and coach, said
he was in disbelief after he scratched his ticket in the parking lot of Capi's Deli on Airport
Boulevard in Durham where he purchased it.
"I kept saying that this is not real," he said. "I kept looking at it... at first it looked like I had won
$100, but the zeros kept coming." He said he will use the money for his granddaughter's college
education, pay bills, and save.
Lisa Wilson of Cary visited the lottery's headquarters Tuesday to claim the $125,000 she won
playing "Outer Banks Bucks." She said she purchased just one of the $5 tickets. Wilson said
she will pay bills with her winnings.
The top prize in tonight's "Carolina Cash 5" drawing is worth an estimated $321,000. In the past
three days, "Carolina Cash 5" players have won a total of $105,700 in prizes and "Carolina Pick
3" players have won $297,550 in prizes.
