"These games will have higher prize payouts than previous games," said
Tom Shaheen, NCEL executive director. "We have been able to add
more prizes as a result of unclaimed prizes from previous games and
savings in operating expenses.
It's all about seeing triple on the new $3 game called "Triple Tripler." The
number of times a player uncovers a "3" will determine if the prize could be
increased as many as three times within that game. There are over
390,000 prizes including five top prizes of $60,000 for a total of
$5.1 million in prizes.
"Firecracker Cash Explosion" is a $2 game that is designed in the patriotic spirit of July 4th. Players get two chances to win on each ticket. If the player uncovers two like symbols plus a firecracker symbol they will win triple the prize shown for that game. In this game there are over 1.7 million winning tickets with more than $7.4 million in total prizes including eight top prizes of $21,000. # # # 100% of the North Carolina Education Lottery net proceeds are used for pre-kindergarten programs for at risk youth, reduction of class size in early grades, school construction and college scholarships for need-based individuals.
